Tab behavior bug

Hello everyone I'm using the latest Firefox version 139.0.3 on Android on a Redmi Note Pro+ 5g. It is a great browser however there is one behavior which seems like a bug in my opinion. Let me give you an example. I visit a website after a while I'm done with it, so I enter an new URL in the address bar. Somehow, Firefox instead of opening the new entered address in the same tab, it opens a new tab with the new address. So if I don't pay attention, rapidly I end up with 20+ open tabs. I searched in the settings, but there is no option that disables this weird behavior. I wonder why the Firefox teams don't let the users decide as to switch a website or open a new website in new tab. Is there any one out there who knows if there is a deep and hidden setting to disable the annoying behavior ? Thanks in advance
